Plainwood Square Free Summer Concert

The Plainfield SID invites the public to celebrate the completion of the “new” South Avenue by enjoying a FREE “Celebrate South Avenue Cultural Entertainment Explosion” this Wednesday, August 29th, at Plainwood Square Park, 1380 South Avenue.  Don’t forget your lawn chairs!

Plainfield Idol – 2012 Competition 

The evening will kick off at 6 pm with three finalists vying for the title of “Plainfield Idol-2012” and an opportunity to audition for the Amateur Night Show at the famous Apollo Theater in New York City. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the three finalists. Former Plainfield Idol winner Bryson Bmoney will serve as a judge. Bryson will also perform a song or two from his new CD.  

 

The finalists will be selected via a “Plainfield Idol Remix-2012 Amateur Singing Competition” conducted by Pat Fields of Meeting of the Minds. Ms. Fields is also the event coordinator of the August 29 event. The first 20 Plainfield applicants will secure an audtion to be held Wednesday, August 15, site to be determined. Stage Entertainment  

 

Following the Plainfield Idol competition on August 29, Grupo Salvacion, a popular local Latin group, will perform. Two of Plainfield’s favorite bands, the soulful Valarie Adams & The Dimension Band, and the R&B vocal group, Ray Goodman & Brown (aka The Moments), will close out the concert which will conclude around 9 pm.
